Welcome to the website of Purcell Physics, a global consulting company.

Our passion is in providing scientific and technical solutions for our customers by uniting expertise in applied physics and engineering with experience in the technology of particle accelerators and radiation detectors.

In particular, we are active in the rapidly emerging field of proton therapy, an advanced form of radiotherapy which uses directed beams of energetic protons to treat cancer, rather than beams of X-rays as in conventional radiotherapy.

Beyond protons, we provide expertise over a range of subjects in engineering, system integration, data analysis, quality and risk management, and technical writing in the medical, commercial and academic sectors.

“David has a bright and fast mind, which immediately focuses on the relevant issues of any subject. He learns rapidly and willingly subjects that are far from his many specialties.

Moreover he shares willingly what he knows with others. Ready to accept any criticism, he is fast in pointing out the weak points of the arguments put forward to him.

His good character and intelligence make him the natural promoter of new activities of the groups in which he happens to be. I want also to underline that he speaks easily and precisely and that his technical presentations are always complete and to the point.

Knowing him very well and for so many years, I am sure that he will be a very positive asset for any group or company that he will join.”

Prof. Ugo Amaldi, President of the TERA Foundation, Founder of the Hadron Therapy Project at CERN, Geneva Switzerland

“In summary, I would rate David’s performance within our organization as exceptional. He consistently delivered the tasks he was assigned in a timely fashion and always in a well-documented format. He carried out the calculations required and wrote requirements and had them cross-checked by CERN experts. He identified suppliers and managed the process to production whilst adhering to the budget and schedule.

His proactive nature meant that he went beyond the tasks assigned to him, making suggestions and providing support to his colleagues outside of his domain, showing expertise in other areas of physics as well as in mechanical 3D design, PCB design and production. Finally, his ease of communication and friendly nature made him a very appreciated member of the team, always available to support colleagues a with a smile.

In short, David has a unique and diverse range of technical and scientific skills from the bottom up not often found by someone holding a high level degree in particle physics. In addition, he has the qualities of a strong leader because of his pro-team spirit and excellent communication skills. For all of these reasons, I believe David would make a strong contribution to any technical team and I would highly recommend him for any technical or managerial position within your organization.”
